AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Inspector for employment in the Franklin TN office. Work will consist of performing detailed inspections, providing recommendations, performing administrative items, and coordinating inspection activities for building, tenant renovation, maintenance, or other construction projects. The Construction Inspector will ensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes and related laws and regulations, including safety and serve as a mentor to other construction inspection staff.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
4+ years of experience in construction inspection and documentation
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and audiences that include but not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
Ability to lead, learn and apply knowledge of applicable local / state and federal codes, statues and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time conscious and time-effective manner
Physically able to perform physical inspection across a variety of disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, concrete, insulation, buildings, etc.)
Willingness to travel (if and when required)
Must be able to obtain full TSA security clearance.
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check
Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work and walk in outdoor/construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat and cold, noise and moisture. Position requires frequent standing/walking, operation of vehicles, climbing of stairs, work in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, keyboard/mouse operations, and repetitive or fine hand movements; often lifting less than 25 pounds; occasionally repetitively bending and stooping, and power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.); rarely working with arms above shoulder level, working at heights, using of portable ladders, wearing fall protection, work in confined spaces, and lifting of greater than 25 pounds. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment.
Knowledge and experience in airport operations and construction is preferred.
Experience with pre-placement (forms, embeds and reinforcement), concrete placement
Certification by recognized authority is preferred
Intermediate or expert computer and software skills to include use of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to work well with others to include team members
