We are seeking applicants for the position of SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER in our Denver office. The successful applicant will have a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in civil engineering with a specialization in geotechnical engineering and must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). A minimum of 12 years of applicable engineering experience is required.
Relevant work experience includes some of the following:
Geotechnical investigations and reporting
Geotechnical analyses and foundation assessments
Tailings and water management feasibility studies, design and operational support
Dam and embankment design, analyses and monitoring
Construction material evaluations
Civil/earthworks construction monitoring and project management
Preparation of design reports, drawings and technical specifications
Practical work experience specifically related to mining project development and operations is required. The candidate must have a strong technical design background in geotechnical analyses, project management experience, excellent communication skills in both English and French (verbal and written) and a demonstrated capability to work cooperatively within multidisciplinary teams and assist in the development of junior staff.
The successful applicant will be expected to coordinate office design and site work activities. Additional responsibilities will include geotechnical analyses, optimizing designs, writing and reviewing technical reports. Travel to domestic and international project sites is a requirement of the position. Experience in the consulting industry, including client liaison activities, is a prerequisite.
