Job Description

Schnabel Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our office in Columbia, SC.

Schnabel’s Columbia office provides a broad range of consulting services including: geotechnical, geostructural, and environmental engineering, geosciences, construction observation and materials testing. We provide our professional services to private- and public-sector clients throughout the US and abroad. Responsibilities of the Geotechnical Project Engineer will include coordination and oversight of field investigations, performing various types of geotechnical-engineering analyses and evaluations, preparation of reports and proposals, project management, and client management.

The successful candidate is expected to have at least a Master’s degree focused in geotechnical engineering, from an ABET-accredited institution. Relevant work experience of at least six (6) years in geotechnical engineering is required. A current Professional Engineering license is also required.

We seek individuals with a strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are expected. Some travel is likely. Starting salary will be based upon experience and skill level.
