We are growing in the Northern California area and looking for an experienced environmental geologist for our Sacramento, California office to perform contaminated site evaluation and due diligence. Our ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience on these types of projects, but we’re open to candidates with up to 10 years of experience. Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals as you move to the next stage of your career? Some of the key responsibilities for the experienced remediation geologist position may include:

Contaminant assessment services such as designing and implementing sampling plans, hydrogeologic investigations, and aquifer testing programs;

Contaminated site evaluation, including feasibility studies, remedy design, and remedy implementation;

Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;

Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and

Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Based on your current level of experience, you’ll likely be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, staff management, and mentoring tasks. Here are some other things you should know about this position:

Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, CPR training and medical monitoring, all paid for by Geosyntec. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.

Some fieldwork and overnight travel will be necessary.

BS degree in geology or related field. (required)

Advanced degree in geology or related field. (preferred)

5 - 10 years of related experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques. (required)

Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)

An outstanding track record for client management, and technical expertise. (preferred)

Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation in California. (preferred)

Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)

Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. (required)
