In this Project Manager position, you will be responsible for day-to-day new work acquisition and management of ground improvement, specialty grouting, slope stabilization / ground anchors, and micro piling projects, including: Design assist / problem solving, estimating, executing, and profitably managing small and large projects throughout the Pacific Southwest based out of our Santa Paula CA office.
Daily duties will include occasional jobsite visits / travel, extensive bid preparation, geotechnical design assist, subcontract negotiations, recognition and management of change order requests and claims, managing project schedules, cost control, project safety and QA/QC requirements, project invoicing, and assistance with securing payments, with an emphasis on building and maintaining long-term, beneficial Contractor/Owner relationships.
Qualified candidates should have 5 - 15 years of Geotechnical Construction or Construction Management experience, with a BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Construction Management preferred.
Other qualifying requirements should include strong project management experience in general construction, stone columns, rammed aggregate piers, deep soil mixing, dynamic compaction, compaction and other soil / rock grouting, permanent tieback anchors, and/ or micropiles. Should have a solid familiarity with all project contractual requirements and proven experience working effectively in a team atmosphere with Engineers, General Contractors, and Owners. Some experience within project development/marketing is preferred. Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills are necessary. High quality computer operations knowledge and efficiency is also required.
