The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for entire database lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, maintenance and test. Server administration, maintenance support, and ETL duties.
Work Scope (Duties & Responsibilities):
- Perform all processes required as they relate to the Database lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, maintenance and test
- Participate and support Jacobs process improvement efforts.
- Attend meetings and training as required
Education and Experience:
BS degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years’ work experience.
Knowledge, skills & abilities required:
- Advance skills in TSQL, SQL Server 2008, and SQL Server 2014 required
- Expert skills in performing database monitoring, maintenance, optimization and design tasks
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Source Safe, word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation tools required
- Solid understanding of ETL processes
- Extensive SSRS experience
Knowledge, skills & abilities preferred:
- Azure experience
- Microsoft Power BI
- Oracle experience
Physical requirements – Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks and laptops.
Work Environment – Cubicle environment is in a secure site.
Attendance - Must be able to work within the shift hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Other Essential Functions:
Must pass drug testing.
Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
