The Structural Engineering Technician provides technical assistance to the Structural Engineering department and testing laboratory across all product lines. Communicates technical information about products and features to external customers as well as internal departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
% TimeJob Responsibilities
70%Provide technical support and information on all Simpson products, software and services to internal and external customers including specifiers, building officials and contractors. Act as a liaison between customers, engineering, sales and production.
20%Assist Simpson Engineers with test reports, technical letters, custom hanger designs, Strong-Wall® and Strong Frame® technical support and various special projects.
10%Provide cost analysis and value engineering on various special projects.

LearningAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts and graphs.
MathematicsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts and graphs.
Computer SkillsMust be proficient in computer data input using Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel, Access and Smartsheet or similar programs with the ability to learn new programs as needed

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.
